Der abgebrannte Taugenichts John Salvatore Fontanelli fristet ein armseliges Dasein in New York, bis er von einer unglaublichen Erbschaft erfährt: Ein entfernter Vorfahr hat ihm im 16. SMB Meinung:
Ein fiktiver Roman, der einem die ganze Macht des Zinseszinseffektes sehr eindrucksvoll näherbringt. Ich glaube, ich habe es damals innerhalb von einer Woche verschlungen. Der Autor Andreas Eschbach stellt in diesem Roman ein wirklich interessantes Gedankenexperiment an, welches mich wahrscheinlich weit mehr inspiriert hat als viele der eher trockenen Sachbücher, die ich gelesen habe. Definitiv auch ein Buch mit hohem Unterhaltungswert und somit auch zum Verschenken geeignet.

SMB opinion:
A fictional novel that gives a striking understanding of the full power of the compound interest effect. I think I devoured the book within a week at that time. In this novel, the author Andreas Eschbach engages in a genuinely interesting thought experiment that probably inspired me far more than many of the rather dry non-fiction books that I have read. Definitely a book with a high entertainment factor as well, and thus also suitable to be given away.
